1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans (don’t drain)
1/4 cup sesame tahini
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, about 1 lemon
2 whole garlic cloves, peeled & minced, Optional *

1. Place garbanzo beans in a small saucepan. Heat to just before it boils.

2. Place the garbanzo beans in the bowl of a food processor. (A mini food processor will work too.) Process on high for 10 seconds or until smooth. Transfer to

3. Transfer smooth beans to a medium mixing bowl. Add sesame tahini, lemon juice, garlic and salt. Mix well. Add olive oil and mix. Taste and add more garlic or salt if you like.

Serve with fresh pita bread, toasted pita chips, rice cakes, crackers, carrot sticks, celery sticks or jicama sticks.
